Technology (DST): Women
Science Programmes |
|
The "Women Scientists Scheme (WOS)" has been
initiated by the DST to support women scientists in the age group of 30-50
years who are willing to return to the mainstream of Science. Under this scheme
women scientists are being encouraged to pursue research in frontier of science
and engineering or to take up S&T based internships followed by
self-employment. Three categories of scholarships with research grants are
available for Indian citizens.

Women in Science are still too often confronted with gender bias and unequal shares of family
responsibilities – "Next Wave" compiled an index of articles written for the specific needs of women scientists. What is more the website outlines various initiatives to reduce gender inequalities in European countries, training schemes and the latest reports and surveys of the situation of women scientists in Europe. |
