  9th Indo German Science Circle Lecture

The 9th Science Circle Lecture will be organised on Friday, September 28th, 2007 at India International Centre, New Delhi. Dr. Harald Mehl, Head Environment & Security, German Remote Sensing Data Centre (DFD), German Aerospace Centre (DLR) will deliver a talk on "The German Remote Sensing Data Center: Technologies and solutions for disaster management". The lecture will be followed by informal discussions and a get-together.

The 4th DAAD symposium for young researchers from India pursuing their M.Phil. or Ph.D. in German Studies shall take place in Pune on September 28-29, 2007. In the framework of this symposium, the young researchers will get an opportunity to introduce their research projects, to discuss the methodology and to interact with scholars from other Indian universities

 Indo-German Joint Call of Proposals in the field of Biotechnology

A Programme of Cooperation defining cooperation in Biotechnology was signed between Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FzH) Germany within the agreement of Indo-German Cooperation in S&T of 1974 and the Special Arrangement in Biotechnology for the period 2001-2006 signed on 15th Feb 2001. Under this programme, proposals are invited in identified priority areas like Microbial Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Structural Biology, Stress Tolerance in plants etc.

 Sofja Kovalevskaja Award of the Humboldt Foundation - new application round
 

The Sofja Kovalevskaja Award is for younger outstanding scientists from all countries and from all disciplines. The Award allows young scientists to spend five years building up working groups and working on a high-profile, innovative research project of their choice at a research institution of their choice in Germany and is valued at 1.65 million EUR. Deadline for Application: 4 January 2008.
