 German Federal Minister for Education and Research to visit India, Feb 05-09, 2007
 

The German Federal Minister for Education and Research, Dr. Annette Schavan accompanied by a high ranking Scientific, Political and Business Delegation would be visiting India from Feb 05-09, 2007. During her visit to Bangalore and Delhi, Dr. Schavan will have various political and scientific meetings. She along with eminent Scientists will represent Germany at the EU-India Ministerial Conference and the Science Icons Meeting on the 7th and 8th of February 2007 respectively.

Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Science, Research and Arts of The Federal German State of Baden-Württemberg accompanied by Professor Dr. Peter Frankenberg, the Hon’ble Minister for Science, Research and Arts of Baden Württemberg visited India from Jan 28- Feb 3, 2007 . During their stay in New, Hyderabad and Chennai, the delegation met amongst others representatives from the University Grants Commission, Department of Biotechnology , University of Delhi, University of Hyderabad and IIT Madras.

 

 

 Indo-German Workshops on Electronic Structure of Emerging Materials: Theory and Implementation, Feb 7-10, 2007, Lonawala-Khandala
 

An Indo-German Workshop on Electronic Structure of Emerging Materials: Theory and Implementation will be organised jointly by the Max Planck Society, Germany and S.N. Bose National Centre from February- 7 - 10, 2007. The purpose of this meeting is to bring together scientists centered in and around the Indian Partner group formed between the Max-Planck Institute FKF, Stuttgart and S.N.Bose Centre, Calcutta to present and discuss recent developments, and to plan future collaboration in the study of electronic structure of emerging materials.

 DST call for application for participation in the Meeting of Nobel Laureates and Students, Lindau Germany

Since 2001, DST deputes every year a group of around 25 young scientists from Chemistry, Physics, Physiology and Medicine, to take part at the Annual Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau. Thereafter the group also visits premier German Research Organisations. Applications are invited from Undergraduate Students, Master and Doctoral Students, and Young Post-Doctoral Scientists from Medicine and Physiology and closely related areas to participate in the 57th Meeting of Nobel Laureates and Scientists from July 1-6, 2007. Deadline for Applications: January 31st, 2007.
