Welcome to the Forum for Indo German Science Cooperation!

I am very happy to take over the position of the Science Counsellor at the Embassy from my predecessor Mrs Marian Schuegraf, whom you certainly know very well. At the same time, I am delighted to be the new Forum Moderator of the Science Circle Website.

Please allow me a few remarks to introduce myself. After my studies of Political Science at the University of Bonn, I joined the German Foreign Office in 1984. I had assignments to our Embassies in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and in Beijing as well as to our Consulate General in Chicago. The last three years I served as Deputy Head of Mission at our Embassy in Singapore. I am very much looking forward to my new assignment in New Delhi. The cooperation between India and Germany is very close and science and technology play a very important part in this framework.

Indo German Science Circle, launched three years back, has with your support, grown into a very large family with around 1200 registered users. A series of Lectures has been organised so far in New Delhi and they have been wonderfully received by our Indian and German audience.

Its virtual component here offers comprehensive information on Science in Germany, Science in India as well as the running Indo German cooperation programmes in the field of science and technology with direct links to partners and institutions.

Through the Newsletter, our team tries to keep you updated on latest scientific news and events.

I would like to thank you for all the cooperation you have extended and hope that you will continue to take part in the discussions. I would also like to extend a very warm welcome to our new members and would like to encourage them to get engaged in the SC-forum!
